Invent in India® – Evolve from import focused to export ready

An important need for India to grow in this critical time of COVID-19 crisis is to enhance economy. One proven way is through developing differentiated solutions (products / manufacturing process / software / services) at affordable cost with right functional performance and with intellectual property rights (IPR). This makes us export ready.

Traditionally Indians looked at either east or west for technology. This is reflected in hundreds of joint ventures developed among the government and private organizations pan India.

SWITCH NOW from import to EXPORT READY through problem solving-

by embracing a change in mindset and a new skill set learnt. When applied on real situations and problems, can move the bar from Make in India to Invent in India®. This needs leadership from all sectors… Government, Private corporations, MSME, Start-ups and Academia.

For India to be a superpower, it needs to master how to be on cutting edge of technology development and its application. It needs to nurture many technology based innovative companies. These companies need to master how to not just invent but make it practically applied along RISIR® (5 growth vectors to differentiate) not by few, but across their organization.

Based on my 14 years of leadership in driving innovation across large corporations and having a good fortune to lead the biggest corporate change in technical innovation at world’s largest OEM in Power Generation that led to close to thousand inventions and hundreds of inventors groomed, i believe this can accomplished using two prong approach-

1. ability to move away from the comfort zone with a change in mindset using Iccha Jnana Kriya Sakthi® framework
2. a new Skill set “inventive thinking ” the ability to formulate inventive problems and solve them with multiple competing novel solutions.

If we can decode the best “smart moves” of all the top innovators across the globe, from the patent databases, we don’t need to reinvent the wheel. The follow-up question is where do we get these “smart moves” put together in one place? Interestingly, TRIZ (Theory of solving inventive problems), I call it Structured Jugaad®. Structured Jugaad® gives us specific directions that best minds used to solve complex problems at cost effective way not missing the required functionality.

My firm PROINN Consultancy® is a partner to many large corporations to impart inventive thinking and to be a catalyst in accelerating to build an innovation culture with significant impact to the top line and bottom line growth. The other credentials that I bring to the table is being a Vice President, TRIZ deployment of MATRIZ in India.
